Rumchuck, I don't really get your point. OPEC?
I've felt from the start that such tentative agreements as 'Memorandums of Understanding, Letters of Intent, and Heads of Agreement', might be weak since the Chinese government is behind the company involved. I enlisted the quoted article to show how other Australian companies have recently been taken advantage of, as the power balance tilted in favour of China as a consumer of commodities, and as a cash rich potential partner.
China is an extremely ruthless totalitarian nation, they understand power, not playing cricket, or a Queensland handshake. They pressured our Govt to lean on RIO and BHP over ore contract prices. Unsuccessfully, but they tried. They sent agents, and organized Chinese students over here to intimidate Australians and Tibetans who were demonstrating at the Olympic Torch Rally. Over there, workers are expended like tools, and people are executed for scores of offence categories. They murder people for their religion, crush unions and suffocate media.
might have wandered off the track . .
