Rudd was said at the time to have created near 100 billion in extra spending with his various policies .... so it's probably wrong to also pile the entirety of that extra spending into the equation as though under Liberal management the debt would be 180 billion.

Rather under the Liberal proposal the debt Kevin Rudd planned to preside over would of been 20 billion lower.

Understand 20 billion was the budget surplus once projected at the top of a great mining boom .... not an amount to be laughed at as though it is meaningless.
