This is Mr Lincoln Augustus, first second cousin of Holymagiman

It is 9 am on another Kingston morning, and we are just sitting around having a scrumptious breakfast, courtesy of Santiago Cruz, who just happens to be a distant forth fifth cousin of Baboo Runchik. We dont see too much of Santiago most times, so it was indeed pleasant when he rolled up this morning with a most delectable breakfast in the back of his red Hillman Humber.

Seems that Santiago had won some money betting on the World Cup soccer . Seems that he hadnt cared much either way on which team won, but he had managed to, most skilfully, predict the number of times the referee blew his whistle during the match, and our boy Santiago sure cleaned up.

Santiago sure seems happy with life , but we feel that he has gone a bit too far blowing his own trumpet when he started playing that vuvuzela that he had brought back from Cape Town during breakfast.

Santiago told us that he had a great time with some South African cricketeers and a couple of Pakistani book editors, so he must have been moving in a very select learned crowd whle he was there. And with friends like these, who knows what the odds are on what?

Baboo just now mentioned that Metgasco had a little presentation today in Australia yesterday, and we just toyed around with some well known figures in that report.

Like for example that Corella P11 is flowing 200,000 scfd, which means that 13 similar wells will produce 1 PJ per year.

Just to clear things up a little, for those unsure of how figures work, 1 Bcf = 1.055 PJ

And Kingfisher, flowing 3,000,000 scfd will produce 1.16 PJ a year by itself. Kingfisher is interesting because the main flow of was from the Ripley Road depths 2043.7 to 2050 m. The deeper Ripley Road sands tp 2060 m were not tested, nor were the deeper Raceview Formation, Laytons Range Conglomerates, the Ipswich Coals and the Nymboida Coal measures.

So the next conventional well, which is going to be drilled much deeper may present with more good news. Or so the family hopes. Of course the fraccing that is to be done in the upper part of the current Kingfisher well will show how easily the upper layers of tight gas can be exploited.

Going back to Corella P11. This is situated in the south-west part of the Eden Creek fairway. The target of drilling here is the Walloon coal measures which are the southern extensions of the Walloons of the Surat Basin. As the presentation today shows, the coal seams targeted with an average thickness of 29 metres. are at depths of 200 to 600 metres.

Two things result due to the depth of the coal. Firstly, drilling is relatively easy and cheap.

Secondly, the coal is not so superficially situated as to allow the trapped gas to escape. So we see that the coal is reported to be generally fully gas saturated. And even better, the gas is almost pure methane, with few impurities.
Bowerbird E2 was drilled 9 km north-east of Corella P11 and encountered 42 metres of gassy coal and shale.

Bowerbird E01 is being drilled 3.7 km west of Corella P11. And good results are hopefully expected.

Geological information expects the Eden Creek fairway may extend 28 km, with GIP of 2.68 Tcf, which somehow equates to a lot of Petajoules. The important thing to realise is that with such thick, gassy Walloon coal, a lot of wells with dual laterals can be put down relatively cheaply to produce a lot of gas cheaply.

PEL 13 has an internal estimate of 11,000 PJ of gas and appears that it may even be better that PEL 16 The company has painted in red the fact that wells 100 km apart are all producing gas and we believe that this shows that Metgasco is sitting on gas, gas, gas, as the company is now shouting.

It is interesting to see that the company, at long last, is starting to promote itself more forcefully. And rightfully so, that's what the family feels. And about time.

also, Metgasco has identified a previously unexplored mid-basin high, the seismic study is about to commence, Bowerbird E01 will soon be completed and the follow-up drilling of Kingfisher will probably be on within the next six months.

Progress is being made on the Lions Way pipeline and the Richmond Valley Power Station.

The last page of todays presentation (page 14) says it all and should be read and reread by all who are interested.
And who knows when the sale of 49% of PEL 16 may suddenly happen??

All appears good and all is blissful, and things may even be a bit more peaceful when Santiago stops blowing his vuvuzela.

So, all in all, there appears to be a very interesting year ahead, with the family expecting much news.

And maybe now may be as good a time as any for my most esteemed friend Mr Hardmano to come along and join the party?

Blessing of the Lord, for there is much to be blessed.
