Certainly - I agree that is the case for the immediate future. The current concern is to get the basics operational, accepted widely, and the machine produced in volume.
I am not an expert, but on the face of it I cannot see a fundamental reason why a future version of the HX cannot ever do face brick. Surely it would not be too difficult for it to do the semi transparent walls - where there is no mortar in the vertical joints. Also, architects will quickly learn the capabilities and limitations of the machine and design buildings to suit.
With respect to the vertical joints, of which the naysayers have had a lot to say, maybe the machine will one day be able to inject a foam-type filler specifically designed for the purpose? I would hazard a guess that if Selleys got asked they might come up with something.
