Williams out of Chapter 11

Williams Communications the largest shareholder in Powertel has been able to secure funding to enable it to exit Chapter 11 (Comms Day 30 July).

With the Powertel performance steadily picking up and a quarterly announcement due and expected to show stronger growth, Powertel looks like a survivor and a beneficiary of the demise of Worldcom whose pricing was sacrificial.
