Wilson is now over 15% and sailing towards 19.9%. Why are shareholders seemingly not engaged on this forum?, because they have been conditioned by equally disengaged Planners who may have collected 1% brokerage for putting a client in the IPO and are most likely getting a trail for ongoing advice.
I cannot see that WAM will want to take over management based on the current strategy. Nor can I see Planners agreeing to remove the hedging given they recommended it to clients and will be courted by Perennial to retain the status quo.
WAM could use the creep from 19.9%, however (subject to market conditions at the time) I suspect they may want an off market buyback and if current performance continues, shareholders will be entitled to it. The liquidity is unlikely to be there for WAM to exit on market.
This will be a strong Buy if meaningful discounts apply as WAN closes in on 19.9%, one of those easy arbitrages?
