Their required UCG wells looks manageable in relation to the wells required for CSG ... but in a much more concentrated area than for CSG.

I have thought that one of the things Ergo must have been working on in the decade or so post Chinchilla is process control ie, how to measure, control and mix syngas from mutliple gasifiers into a consistent feed through the gas preparation plant so that the turbines purr 24/7.

The other thing I am sure Ergo would have been working is how to optimise well spacing and/or patterns to achieve the least drilling costs per unit of coal gasified and hopefully the most coal per unit volume of seam gasified.

The devil has to be in the detail. The only inputs that I can think of after well spacing is set, is air injection volume/pressure, air temperature, maybe steam content (but this is possibly created underground by air/burning coal interfacing with encapsulating groundwater) and hydrostatic pressures in/around the gasifiers. The only outputs are probably syngas composition, volume and temperature ... all UCG management decisions have to be made on those variables I guess ... it aint like there can be cctv footage of what is going on down there lol.

Hanging out for some technical info on the burn!
