are you sure you are not referring to wells that have been plugged to stimulate a new zone?
It seems the 'stopping' very quickly wouldn't be natural well decline or reaching EUR. Both these processes are an exponential decay such as shark showed.
Rapid sudden decline is most likely an on-purpose shut in or a blockage... it could also be proposed that its due to the water cut taking a dramatic turn (going from 10% oil to 1% or something) but I cannot think of an instance where I have seen that sort of behavior so rapidly either.
