Copper is up 3% in the last couple of hours in USD.
In AUD it has jumped from around $7250/tonne when I looked at it this morning to $7750/tonne tonight.
Copper is quite volatile at the moment.
The important factor is copper demand will be strong over the longer term. There are some short term blips but the US is beginning to recover, Europe will work through its debt woes and the key developing countries will continue their march towards becoming developed countries.
