Optus may play a very big part in this whole Wimax rollout.
Who can forget Opel and the $billion government fund to rollout Wimaxt that was pulled. I bet Steven Conroy had wished he hadn't pull the pin now.
Most Wimax supporters knew Optus was going to have capacity problems on it's wireless 3G and it didn't take long. The only option now for Optus is to build lots of base stations or buy more spectrum, Spectrum is like land they stop making it. Optus may rethink Austar's 2.3GHz and 3.5GHz wimax spectrum or the upcoming 2.5GHz wimax spectrum.
The rest of the 3G camp may also have capacity problems because date take a hell of alot more capacity than voice alone.
