Unlike most pubic to private transactions NEN broke with convention by not (yet) offering a a reasonable price to shareholders for remaining shares (when compared to the market value of the company). It would seem this strategy has paid off to date as management has been clever in accumulating shares at a significant discount to valuation - most recently thru the buyback offer at 22c. However, there are still shareholders clearly not willing to sell at these fire sale prices (probably because they don't have to). But the reality is neither NEN nor those remaing shareholders are wining at this point. It would seem a win/win at this point, having done well accumulating shares at a ridiculous discount, for NEN to return to the usual convention of purchasing remaining shares at a premium to the company's NTA rather than the exact opposite - as is usually the case when a private entity wants full ownership of a public company to access the full value of the companies assets.
