Labor's genius' like Chris Bowen and Richard Marles is a hard act to follow but Albanese seems to have nailed it.
Claiming in parliament that solar batteries would charge a greeny's car overnight. No need for stellar panels after all according to the smart Alec.
The EV of choice for the wealthy inner urban green is the Tesla 3 with a battery that needs 77/79/82 kw of power to fully charge them.
So how many solar batteries does the elitist need? The Tesla Powerwall has 13.5 kw capacity.
So from scratch and as long as said elitist does not power his house at night (uses candles). Hence he would need 6 Tesla Powerwalls, costing around $7000 each.
But wait he also wants to power his house so that is an extra 2. If however he is in Melbourne with its lousy weather then we need to double the number of batteries.
In a nutshell Albanese seems to be correct if the elitist has 16 Powerwall Tesla batteries. At least 60 (120 in Melbourne) panels would be needed to charge these batteries during the day time.
Maybe Albo should stick to sucking his thumb.
wait. That estimate does not allow for a safety margin and what if 1 or more batteries overheat and catch fire? Will household insurance go through the roof? Sounds as bad as the new religion's climate catastrophism.
