We need a variety of technologies which result in the decarbonisation of the electricity system. Personally I think we need wind, solar and low carbon technologies such as fuel cells. If we want to avert the effects of climate change we have to reduce carbon. Full stop. Whilst I do think some technologies will be ultimately more effective than others in reducing carbon more quickly we need all of these technologies to be deployed.
BTW, the Mail is a mass market rag in the UK. Not a great source for well considered and balanced opinion!
