i'm no stockmarket guru so i contact the ASX to see if there was anyway i could offload my shares:
here is my email:
"i own a share (NAL) that has been in suspension for over 2 years and shows no sign of re-listing.
is there any way for me to sell (or dispose) of these shares?
i would be willing to forgo any value for these shares as long as it is considered a deduction/loss for taxation purposes."
here is their response:
"As the company has been suspended you will not be able to sell these shares on market.
There are two other options available to dispose of the shares.
1. Off-Market Transfer - If you are able to find someone that is willing to buy/take these shares you are able to lodge an off-market transfer form with your broker. The shares will then be transferred into the other persons name.
2. Donation - It may also be possible to donate the shares. Sharegift Australia (ph:1300 731 632) is an organisation that would be able to help you do this."
so i checked the sharegift website: http://www.sharegiftaustralia.org.au
has anyone used this site?
i think i might donate them, at least i'll get some tax benefit.
any comments would be appreciated.
