Hardly likely.
Right now, wind is generating 510 MW from a capacity of 5421 MW. ie less than 10% of capacity.
Coal is generating 17,200 MW right now.
A bit of storage on that wind will do ZILCH for our needs.
When doing a comparison everyone ignores the need for a "like for like " in the process. Wind is not like for like. It disappears for days at a time. eg currently generating less than 10% of its capability nationwide.
How many acres of batteries costing trillions are needed to back up the total unreliability of wind?
No one ever tries to do a proper assessment on this as it shows how non sensical the concept is unless you are happy to be in the dark days on end.
