South east trades are tropical and sub tropical. They start about Coffs harbour, give or take - the same crossover area where you get the summer winter styles of change.


It is a very romantic and exciting name for winds - most kids with a romantic/exotic loving streak remember the name.-- even if they don't know it doesn't get to Melbourne :)

I guess Southerly buster would be more appropriate for Vic. :)

The South East trades in winter aren't all fun either, they often come through with line squalls attached. Makes keeping the bikini on on deck problematic sometimes :)
