Yeah, it's a slippery slope.
First it's wheels and before you know it there's cars, trucks, buses and a huge road toll. Ban motorised vehicular traffic and make everyone walk or ride bikes really slowly.

Every 24 seconds somebody dies on the world's roads.
More than 3,400 people die on the world's roads every day, and tens of millions more are injured or disabled every year. The number of traffic deaths continues to rise globally, with 1.35 million fatalities annually.
Those are some of the highlights of a new road safety report that underscores that while there has been progress in some regions of the world, it is not sufficient to tackle the growing crisis. Worldwide, road traffic injuries are now the leading killer of children and young people aged 5-29 years.
