As a novice might I suggest you open the program you wish it to...

    As a novice might I suggest you open the program you wish it to be opened in then open the file from that application. then save in the correct format for that application.
    What i'd like to know is HOW do you "open as " once you have accidently open in the wrong application as windows opens all the same files that way.. (does that make any sense)
