    I should clarify, when I say a red should be two years old I refer to the Shiraz, Cab, cab sav and lesser extent Merlot. From experiance only a very few under 2 years don't have that yet to mature taste so unless I know or can taste test first I avoid buying them.

    I'm familia with Tallijancich, yes nice wines. There some very small vinyards that are not well known that sell some nice wine made from there grapes by a local contract wine maker.

    Good perspective on the small vs large wine makes, yes passion. I know a guy who owns a well known realivly small premium winery, when he first started he employed a well known passionate wine maker who produced some award winning wines ($50). Unfortunatly there grew a conflict over firstly the type of oak casks then about the quality of grapes. The wine maker only wanted to use the best grapes which meant less production while the owner wanted increace production. The wine maker left and unfortunatly that premium wine is not as good, the owner expanded with a less premium brand selling for $18
