Some time ago (about 2013) I came across some some Shiraz for $7, checked the bottle and it was from Mount Barker WA. Rarely get a bad Red wine from the south west so that had my attention but then I also noted it was 2007 vintage. I do like my red wines to have a bit of age, I avoid any that are not at least 2 years old.
The drinking notes where also appealing and @ $7 what the hell thought I'd give it a go. Was blow away when I tried it was one of the best Shiraz I have had. From there on I was buying cases of it and stocking up, had a good run but alas good things come to an end.
Eventually the bottle shop got the same wine in but 2009 vintage, while not as good as the 2007 it was still good and at $7 I was saving a bit of money on my drinking habit LOL
2009 vintage ran out but now have 2011 vintage still pretty good. Manager cut me a deal, $50 per carton (12 bottles) if I buy half a pallet that's just under $4.20 per bottle
