"Malawi's Minister of Mining Kenneth Zikhale Ng'oma has said mining will resume at the Kayelekera project in June, following a meeting with the project's majority owner Lotus Resources Ltd. According toThe Star Online, the minister's statement quoted Lotus Managing Director Greg Bittar who said the first product is expected "one or two months after the resumption of the operations". The company had recently said it was on track for first production in the third quarter of this year. Lotus Resources owns 85% of Kayelekera, with the Government of Malawi owning the remaining 15%."
