    Thanks for recent posts regarding possible strategic partners and also the possibility of China reducing it's reliance on the big three to supply itself from within.

    Economies of scale also come into play here. China's current iron ore reserves are reducing in % of fe and therefore cost more to produce and will continue to increase in cost per tonne as that percentage keeps reducing in quality.

    THe advantage of SDL's project is that it has 480 or so million tonnes of direct shipping ore of around 62% fe at a cost per tonne of $20 or so dollars.

    If the cost of benefication increases from within CHina as the quality of ore deteriorates, surely SDL's project is attractive economically.

    Slats......not sure who the partner/s will be, but have found it interesting that over the previous couple of weeks we have had two media reports indicating two companies who have stated they are not on the short list.

    Makes me think a financial journo is investigating who these potential partners might be.
