I really don't know why people pay so much attention to the MACD, in my experience, in markets like this it is late and in sideways markets which we've had since 2009, it's completely useless.
Here's a chart with a 9ema MACD plotted, along with my faves the RSI, CMO and the 34 period Stoch. Can you see what I mean, imagine trading all those times prior to October last year, and since then it has been beaten to the punch everytime and gave a false signal halfway down the dt. It's a very short term signal.
