YEs your trading style is quite similar to mine. I usually only enter when I see a reversal in trend after a long uptrend or downtrend has been exhausted and due for some correction. The only downside to this is there may be some false breakouts.

I tend to trade NZD/USD as it is the one that follows the AUD/USD and EUR/USD, where i can get some sense of direction first. But it is quite low volume and illiquid sometimes, moving in spurts and gaps.
