As this is an off market bid (not a scheme of arrangement) it will be quite quick. 45 days minimum and probably about 60 to complete.
As PLT is buying FER, PLT shareholders have no say in it.
Existing PLT shareholders will own about 53% of the merged group (called Novus) and it will get a new ASX ticker.
The shares for the new group will just be an extension of current PLT market.

PS...My 53% owvership by PLT shareholders is based on the premise that they will want to redeem their C-Notes in December 2008....ie. get paid their money back.
