soon it will become apparent the flu vaccine strategy is not being driven by results. We are enamoured with the science and success in reducing deaths in so many other illesses but we are stumped by this one. It is now recommended by the CDC in US that we have an annual vaccine from the age of 6 months. Seriously, 6 MONTHS. each year. forever. To prevent how many deaths?
No doubt the Glaxos and CSLs of the world are wringing their hands with delight. $$$$$$$$$ galore. Government funded. WE ARE IDIOTS. The vaccine strategy for influenza doesn't work. The virus just drifts into an infectable population.

Maybe antivirals arent the answer either but what we are doing with flu vaccine is just plain DUMB.
