The point was not about whether mice are animals. I am not that stupid.
The point.... if I really have to spell it out; is that they are not trials at all. An animal trial is when clinical trials are performed on animals, for animals. Otherwise it is preclinical studies.
These preclinical studies are about safety, dosage and bio-availability. The next step would be more preclinical on a relevant animal disease model. Another year for that, at a very high cost. Then; another year or so until they got to a Phase One TRIAL.
