In the beginning there was the promise.
It was a promise that was big.
It was a promise of huge windfall profits.
It was a promise of untold happiness.
It was a promise of a very comfortable retirement.
It was a promise of ocean cruises and fast sports cars.
Alas, the promise was never realised.
Fear not - hope springs eternal in the hearts of the true believers.
Time and frustration has not dented their enthusiasm.
Maybe they just can't tell the wife that the new washing machine has been cancelled.
Who knows.
Its been a long slow depressing saga but could it have a happy ending?
We wait with bated breath.
