Australian-UK specialty metals company Wolf Minerals is set to deploy IFS Applications as its ERP system when it opens its first UK mine near Plymouth, Devon.

At its Drakelands Mine, the metals company is in the process of developing a global tungsten and tin production hub.

The resource will be developed at the company's Hemerdon project, located in the south-west of England.
It is expected to produce around 3.5% of world demand for tungsten in 2016.

Following the contract valued at £300,000, Wolf Minerals aims to have a core set of IFS functionality up and working prior to its full operations, which are which are slated to be operational in summer 2015.

"This is a significant project that will see not only Britain's first new metal mine for 45 years, but also the development of the world's third largest tungsten resource."

IFS managing director Paul Massey said: "This is a significant project that will see not only Britain's first new metal mine for 45 years, but also the development of the world's third largest tungsten resource.

"The objective for IFS and Wolf Minerals is to implement finance, maintenance management, HR, payroll and supply chain tools for phase one, with a view to expanding IFS functionality further as the site kicks off operations, including the deployment of the IFS Mobile Work Order capabilities."

Wolf Minerals UK operations manager Jeff Harrison said: "It is imperative that as we implement our new IT system that this is done on the basis of proven, reliable foundations and with applications which are focused on how our business operates and can adapt with the growth of the business.

"Not only has IFS provided this, but also an excellent consultation throughout this process."
IFS develops and delivers business software for enterprise resource planning (ERP), enterprise asset management (EAM) and enterprise service management (ESM).
