Some extracts from an article in today’s AFR about v2food rolling out in Woolworths nationally (except WA curiously).
Personally I think this is a good thing, while they are a competitor of WOA’s for now the more plant protein products that enter the mainstream the more consumers will get exposure to this product segment which will enlarge the pie / addressable market for all plant protein manufacturers. And v2food could potentially become a customer of WOA’s for their lupin protein isolate, depending what wholesale and retail strategy WOA pursues.
An interesting data point re potential capex costs as well with v2foods plant costing “15 million plus”.
