piotrvip, i don't disagree and i wasn't suggesting that someone from the PM's office would call up the judge for a chat. just by reason of hearing the case, that judge would be under immense pressure, assuming it were not a jury trial. nothing would need be said to the judge. if he or she convicted, the liberal party would find a spot in a higher court for that judge, and visa versa. it is the way the system works. by the way, the judge that sent pauline hanson to gaol, did that judge get appointed to a higher court not long after? my memory is not 100% on that.
