I think that you will find that a further two wells, Banjo 1A and Patrobus 1, were drilled by GOP in an onshore sub basin identified by the Falcon technology and both were dusters. ie: no hydrocarbons encountered.
Gilbert was not a commercial oil accumulation. Oil had migrated through the Gilbert structure.
Cathy Norman recently described the Gippsland as one of Australia's most prolific oil and gas regions. The geology of this region is very well known and understood. Given the Falcon technology could not save GOP the expense of drilling dusters in this region, how can you suggest that the Falcon technology could have saved WPL the expense of drilling a duster at Pomboo 1 (offshore Kenya) in a region where the geology is unknown?
