My theory on the encouragement of women to participate in the workforce is to simply increase the size of the workforce . It was effectively an untapped resource . Especially important in western cultures with negative population growth .
Further benefits :
Economy expands and so does tax base.
Social benefits for women getting out of the house and spending more time with adults. Not sure whether the kids in childcare is the best idea though .
Based on the findings of the microloan companies in Africa , women are more likely than men to repay a loan and achieve self sufficiency .
Definitely don't agree that men are generally born leaders .
