Australia would be much better off if we increased the respect our tradesmen and Master Craftsmen got. Then revitalise the apprenticeship system.
Bring back the apprentice training centres in the big employers with tax incentives.
Close half the unis that are just childminding centres.

At the end of my career I was interviewing kids with MBAs from Dawkins universities who were taught by academic losers with no experience. They couldn't manage a sausage sizzle.
Australia doesn't need more than 3 unis turning out MBAs.
