@moondoong; neither Hamas nor Netanyahu's IDF has demonstrated they can be trusted to honour any undertaking they sign up to.

For all we know all Israeli hostages taken by Hamas have already been killed following IDF bunker-busting bombing, Hamas blood-letting as well as , starvation, dehydration and disease due to the aid blockades imposed by Netanyahu's regime.

Then there are secondary issues including the slaughter of Palestinian civilians by marauding Israeli right wing extremist 'settlers' as they exploit opportunities to steal Palestinians' territories and possessions and even the boastful looting of Palestinian possessions by Netanyahu's IDF personnel.

IMO it's problematic as to whether Hamas would release surviving Israeli hostages while Netanyahu persists with threatening to exterminate Hamas as soon as possible [something that would be yet another war crime]. Any surviving Israeli hostages are Hamas's 'iron dome human shield' which, once removed, seems certain to prompt the IDF to deploy whatever WMDs are needed to kill them.
