You might be, but that's absolutely irrelevant.
The Palestinians (and the 5 Arab neighbouring countries which invaded Israel in 1948) were not in favour in 1947-48, and have rejected every opportunity since then to have a state.
As someone famous once said: "they never miss an opportunity to shoot themselves in the foot".
