my study I used publications of the Interstate Statistical Committee of theCommonwealth of Independent States (Interstate Statistical Committee of the CIS1996, 2006), information retrieved from internet sites of statistical agencies of FSUcountries and Israel, statistics of the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society (HIAS) and theGerman Federal Office for Migration and Refugees (BAMF), as well as data on the1970 and 1989 Soviet censuses available in the Inter-Active Supplement toDemoscope Weekly. Besides the special migration publications of the Israel CentralBureau of Statistics (Israel CBS 1995, 1998, 2000, 2006, 2007, 2009, 2012), I alsoutilized some of its unpublished data. Other sources used in the study are noted in thetext. For the sake of consistency, all the data shown on migration streams will bepresented for calendar years.
