It was a dog act by a bigot of a PM.
He certainly didn't go to the people for a referendum or plebiscite to do that.
The only reason we had to have a plebiscite to change it back was because he did that, and because bigots in the Liberal government of the day didn't want to change it back.
Think about that next time you are whinging about legislation.
