    Hi Iorn Bark,

I buy my peppermint firewood from a local farmer who supplies it by the 6 ton truck load. With the She Oak (Casuarina) and Silver Wattle, I have enough on my property. I generally burn about 8 to 10 ton per year depending on the severity of the weather conditions over the winter.

I always organise my firewood the prior year and stack it so it dries out over the summer months in readiness for the upcoming winter. Sometimes it gets a few ants and spiders in it whilst drying out but I have an external wood box that is also accessible from the inside of the house so it isn't a big deal really.

I generally have to light the wood heater in April and keep in burning until the end of September. I also have a heat pump which I use only on those chilly times when the fire has been closed down for the summer period.
