Well the production of "green energy" products and the waste they produce is not the answer either. Nuclear is the only answer, the "green energy" movement is a money making/employment/production stepping stone to nuclear energy, a money making load of rubbish.
If the politicians were serious about combating Global warming then they would be building nuclear power plants and utilising Silex (Australian invention) technology.
LNG is the best alternative until nuclear is adopted, H2 is a waste of time too IMO.
