Thanks numeraire for that interesting take. First time I see a clear picture over where these companies stand on renewables.

I don’t buy into the alarmist climate change story one iota. However I’ve don’t like polluting the earth, I love renewables, recycling, reusing simply because it is a good thing.

Fossil fuels for better or worse has lifted many out of poverty, kept us warm, powered hospitals and supports so many essential services. I believe there is a place for fossil fuels for a long time to come but should be managed to last another 10,000 years. We shouldn’t get too greedy.

The electrification of energy is a great moment for humanity, with all the benefits it will bring when sourced from renewables.

We don’t need to throw the baby out with the bath water so soon though.

Climate change alarmists are denying the needs of people of today for some future that no one knows or controls. Seems to me such people/scientists belong with people of deep religious faith with fire and brimstone to scorch the earth if we don’t turn away from our sins and stop worshipping the false idols of fossil fuels!

Besides, nature does carbon capture and storage much more efficiently and cheaply and they are called trees. And that’s just one of nature’s carbon capture storage tricks!
