The May contract expires tomorrow. We’re already rolled into June which is $21 right now.
What you’re seeing is a bunch of people who don’t want to take delivery of the May expiry so they’re basically paying you to take the burden instead. -$35 however is multiples worse than most expected, and has likely blown up a large hedge fund somewhere.
