dont forget WPL are planning to be listed on NYSE prior to the BHP assets, so that will provide quite a bit of demand fpr WPL stock given the NYSE liking for oil stocks.
WPL will be a top 10 listed global oil company once the merger occurs. Global markets will naturally take an interest in WPL.
