BP and Shell have FID'd projects and had a crack.
What a sensationalist answer, then posing a straw man that I have suggested things change this year. Just wanting to see progress and commitments. Not spending another billion on a Browse FEED to add to the 2-3 bn already down the toilet.
The reality is a transition takes 5-10 years of gathering operating experience before you are able to really scale up. None of that is happening right now for Woodside. Not 1% of the production, not 0.01%.
Newer technologies that would help to future proof the Scarborough project have been avoided such as E-drive compressors on the refrigeration project. Instead you're all assumed to be stupid and fed a snazzy poster that claims there are groundbreaking emissions saving from using aeroderivative gas turbines, a 20 year old technology applied to LNG trains 4 and 5.
All my opinions are obviously strictly my own having worked for an Oil and Gas operator.
