Agree – I’m certainly not barracking for $US150 oil…….not in anyone’s interests really. It would cause all sorts of damage economically and step up the urgency to transition to renewables (with all sorts of brainless government assistance)
It would also step up the pressure for new ideas around taxes on the oil and gas sector so soon after Meg has navigated her way through the last round.
Around current levels stops just short of the normal hysteria associated with high oil prices ……although $2.29 per litre at the bowser is starting to kick things off again….and with the low $A is generating some handsome cashflows for WDS.
Happy to see Brent settle around US$90 or even US$85.
