Michaelirish, I believe Mr Trump is promoting not so much a Telsa car but bringing more mining and downstream in the U.S of rare earth minerals Lithium, Scandium, Antimony etc, Countries like Australia are being looked at very heavily by the U.S, because of our Rare Earth Minerals, The Chinese have such a high stranglehold on these crucial minerals especially Downstream Processing.
