Election and all the doubts pending and possible downsides from Aussie side of business if pundits are correct and Labor looking like a win that will lock in green tape and expensive energy for Australian industry forever. Both sides of politics are headed for energy crunch and gas is the only obvious stop gap solution but gas players and possible generation need a 15 year commitment . Gas generation getting that commitment from government will make peaking batteries in many situations uneconomical and all green funding of peaking batteries should cease to level playing field. .
Management , all industry that uses energy and gas industry better harden up and start fighting for gas industry as they really haven't spent much on politics and policy advertising from what I am told compared to the possible loss if they aren't allowed to get projects done. Both political parties and management are scared of green political pushback and everyone thinks energy and energy transport/ transmission / storage is cheap and easy and as we know it needs decades long commitment to make it economical to justify infrastructure cost and initial investment . RIP Australian energy intense business , local manufacturing let alone the mystical - we will mine and process our own rare earths bullcrap to new enviro standards . There is a reason rare earths being such a dirty industry are process in low regulation countries.
Australias energy is a joke and crippling industry and forcing poor decisions.
PS no I don't think nuclear is easy option but so many other countries using it as baseload and only way they are meeting enviro commitments and that is who we compete against. arghhhh Politicians of all colours get yor shit together
