hDifficult to compare gdp from one country to another. Australia excludes many activities from GDP calcs whereas many other countries do not. Eg.

1. Illegal Activities excluded in Australia but illicit drug trade and sex are included in places like US and UK
2. Unpaid household work excluded in Australia but value of cooking and cleaning childcare in included in some countries
3. Volunteer work excluded australia but included in others
4. And what about transfer pricing of exported goods and commodities - the tax avoidence we know is happening by major companies.

Maybe Australia is just not capturing everything. Looking around my area (SE Queensland) I don't see recession.
