The issue is that centrifuges have great difficulty with seismic vibrations. Too run up a centrifuge takes a lot of time to get through resonances (the outer surface of the centrifuge has a speed of about mach 2 and cannot be stopped otherwise it shakes itself to pieces with the resonances as it slows down. With enrichment (with centrifuges) you have to keep feeding them with uranium (even though it may have a low 235U assay) just to make sure that it does not break up as it slows down. From what I can see the Israeli's are hoping to cut the power to the centrifuges (by bombing the power stations (but the Iranians are also likely to have diesel standby underground - so the problem will be how long thwe standby can be maintained. The other attempt will be to cause seismic shock waves so as to excite the centrifuge resonances and hope that destroys them (western centrifuge enrichment plants are always put in low seismic locations due to this). The stuksnet virus casue centrifuges to overspeed and that way the US/Isreal managed to destroy Irans enrichment capability in the past but they will now be aware of those vulnerabilities

It will be interesting to see what the Iranian now do in the straits of Hormuz to suppress oil from the gulf (the Iranian gulf terminal at Fajr Jam has no doubt now destroyed by Israel).
