I mean I am happy to be corrected but the GST gets funnelled to the states. So, why would a federal government legislate to give to someone else to control.
Now you could argue that if they give them more money they can offload some spending. But if you offload spending you offload control and we know how much governments love to do that between themselves.
so explain to me again how they're going to double the GST?
